Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy details how your information is collected, used, and protected in connection with California ballot initiative campaigns led by Golden Values.

This policy may receive updates. The most recent version of it will always be available on this page: https://www,goldenvalues.org/privacy-policy.

Effective: May 30, 2025 (Pacific Standard Time)

SECTION 1.

The following lists types of information that can be collected or used:

  • Public Voter Information: The campaign may use publicly available data from state or county election offices, including, but not limited to your name(s), birthdate, phone number(s), voter registration status(es), residency and/or mailing address, election history, and party affiliation.

  • Email Addresses: Contacts to you may be made using an email address associated with your voter record, obtained from public records or lawful data sources.

  • Petition Submissions: If you choose to mail a petition, the information you provide (name, signature, address, etc.) is required by state law and will be submitted to your county elections office for signature verification.

  • Voluntary Contact: If you email or use the website's contact form, content received from that correspondence may be retained for campaign purposes.

SECTION 2.

Your information is used for the following campaign purposes:

  • To send outreach emails and requests related to the petition.
  • To assist voters in accessing, completing, and returning petitions.
  • To analyze response rates and optimize future outreach.
  • To comply with legal obligations required by California election law and federal law.

SECTION 3.

Sensitive personal information such as your Social Security Number, health information, driver's license numbers, and full financial account details are NOT knowingly collected.

If you choose to make a donation, your payment will be securely processed through a third-party payment platform (such as Donorbox or a similar service). All financial data (e.g., credit/debit card numbers, banking details) is collected, processed, and stored exclusively by that third-party provider in accordance to their own privacy policy and data security practices.

Disclosure of the amount(s) donated and who made the donation may be reported as required by law. Your full financial information, at any point, is not knowingly accessed, collected, or transmitted by the campaign.

Any issues or concerns regarding financial data should be directed to the third-party provider directly. By using this site or making a donation on it, you acknowledge and agree that the campaign is not responsible for the data practices of third-party platforms.

SECTION 4.

This site does not knowingly collect the data of individuals under the age of 18.

SECTION 5.

  • Opt-Out: If you wish to stop receiving future communications, you may click “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of any campaign email or reply with “Unsubscribe.”

  • Data Requests: You may contact the campaign to ask what information is on file (if any), or to request that your information is no longer used. While the campaign may not be legally required to delete or suppress public voter registration data it holds, there will be attempts to honor reasonable requests to stop further communication.

SECTION 6.

While no system is foolproof, reasonable safeguards and practices implemented to protect your public data, including using secure email services and restricting access to voter data to campaign volunteers and operators with a need to know.
